Procurement, Planning & Coordination • Consolidate all the monthly packaging requirements for the 3 companies (6 remote pack houses) as per the materials requirements. • Negotiate price listings for a fixed period of time, agree and sign off the agreement, after a satisfactory market survey on the competitor offers. • Procurement of the packaging materials (boxes, bags, films, punnets etc.) from the pre-qualified suppliers, and coordinate delivery to the Head Offices warehouses. • Produce the consolidated weekly packaging report for each pack house for purchase and logistics distribution to the farms. • Ensure all the purchases pricing are as per the agreed negotiated prices, with any mismatch followed up and corrections done. Inventory management • Ensure the farm physical stock levels match the system data for ease in decision making during purchase. • Conduct impromptu farm visits for a physical stock count and verification. • Valuation reporting of all the dead/obsolete stocks held in the various warehouses across the 6 warehouses for management decision making. • Re order levels monitoring as per the specific farm requirements and season, to minimize overstocking/under stocking. • Ensure all the purchases are properly entered into the system as Goods Receipts, any inordinate supplies sorted and disputes resolved. • Head office – farm inventory reconciliation, in terms of the purchases, deliveries and receipts made at the farm level for transparency and effective inventory management. Logistics management • Coordinate all the purchase supplier delivery to the Head Office Warehouses. • Ensure timely dispatch for the materials required at the farms on a weekly basis to the farms, using each farm’s consolidated weekly requirement report generated. Successfully sourced, purchased, verified and delivered on - time materials for numerous units of Irrigation projects of high quality farm inputs (drip lines, fittings, PVC pipes and general irrigation products ) for Amiran Irrigation Department for use in its vast projects Built strong relationships over the years with leaders in the Irrigation Industry (senior Sales Managers) to negotiate price discounts and stay at the forefront of all price shifts in the country. I have set up service level agreements with various suppliers that has significantly reduced our buying costs I have also pushed for better prices and a fixed price list with notifications hence to be done in a month prior to the price change; this covers us for the quotations already given to our customers, so that in the event of Purchase order we don’t suffer a loss shock. I have established an inventory management system. This is through demand forecasting, establishing the minimum order quantities mostly from our overseas suppliers, Economic Order Quantities (to reduce importation/clearing costs) and reorder levels. I have severally used V look up to pool data from the system and check the stock movements for the previous five quarters and therefore help me in decision making on the quantity of drip lines to order. I have processed and sent Branch Purchase Orders (BPO) to our overseas suppliers in Israel and UK, sought approvals from the Head of department, the Managing Director, the Financial Controller and the Regional head in regard to huge order exceeding USD 100,000.00 For the new suppliers, discuss the credit terms, open credit facilities for them, have the Managing Director and the financial controller approve the credit terms and open accounts for them in the accounts department.
