I held this position several times since 2011, moving between project management and leading teams based on the needs of the team. My focus was to analyze and direct from concept through steady state to include identification, requirements, design, approval and implementation for process improvements, new technical solutions and system upgrades. Creating efficiencies and risk reduction were the primary drivers. I chaired communication and training of impacted teams, both operational and business partners in multiple sites to ensure a successful project. Most recently I obtained capital expenditure approval for a loan accounting system upgrade along with completing the design, requirements and estimates for approval of a capital investments request of $12.8MM for a document imaging and workflow solution. Additionally, I successfully led the implementation a new loan documentation system $2.5MM under budget and facilitated a change to a productivity tracking tool which reduced the amount of time spent by staff by 79%. I was directly responsible for oversight of a credit operations support team of 60 people for global syndicated lending to drive service level agreement (SLA) compliance and customer expectations. My tenure began with the consolidation of three diverse departments into one, with a focus to reduce operational risk and improve customer service. This required use of change management techniques to create a cohesive and supportive team working for the benefit of the customer.Reduction in operational risk was obtained by creation of new risk controls, include Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and BASEL. The annual budget of $6.9MM managed by me never varied from forecast by more than .08%. I supervised the conversion and consolidation of Charter One Bank into our loan servicing centers. Upon starting this position, I found there was discord among the team members so I initiated a team building movement focused on breaking down site barriers, sharing knowledge and improving team spirit resulting in significant improvement to the teams’ performance and engagement within the first year. I directed a team of 60 people responsible for consumer and commercial loan operations for a bank with a four-state footprint and $2BB in assets. Duties included fulfillment, servicing, document management, collateral administration, transaction processing and account reconciliation. During my tenure I directed the implementation of a loan file imaging and collateral exception system project resulting in risk reduction and cost saves. This task included defining requirements, soliciting and analyzing vendors, obtaining approval, implementation and training through steady state. In addition, back scanning of 100% of the files was achieved within 3 years of the roll out. I contributed significantly to the implementation of a consumer underwriting system with interface to loan documentation system achieving reduction in process cycle time. Under my direction the team consolidated all loan operation functions for a minimum of four acquired banks within the footprint.
