  Was based PRN in on the General Medicine floor but floated to Labor and Delivery and orthopedic and than went f/t on the Neuro/Stroke Unit. Worked at the nurses station and posted in the computer all the written orders Doctors wrote in the patient charts for nurses to follow. I took care of the floor bedboard, admissions and discharges. I greeted families and would direct them to the room. Helped CNA's with things I was able to do such as answer the light call for small things the patent might need. Was an extra hand for patient care in a limited capacity . I answered the phones to help the charge nurse even though most questions were for them.

  I worked closely with the Dr to administer treatments prescribed for patients, such as therapeutic untrasound and electrical muscle stimulation, simple trigger point massages and a few stretching ideas for patent to do at home. Loved that job, it was one on one and got to see them come in with terrible pain and in a few months would be so much better. As our bodies age chiropractic alignment's sometimes can keep a patient from surgery. Patients always wondered why they had to come so often to maintain, it's because of our lifestyles, we bend over, lift things heavy, carry grandbabies etc. Any one of those can throw your back, shoulder or knees out. Everyone over 50 have back problems, no one can ever escape that. You can have it go out just by sleeping wrong. I have seen amazing things with chiropractic care. I have to warn everyone, they are not all good. Ask friends if they know one, "never" just go to one without knowing someone who has gone to him/her. Very important,, !!!!!
