Ideal Home Show is the oldest consumer exhibition in the world with over 100 years history in the UK. I was responsible for the first oversees debut in Shanghai. Given market conditions in China the show was positioned to upper middle-class audience. Outcomes:Secured 500 exhibitors showcasing 500 brands both international and domestic. Led the growth of the Chinese Sales team to 16 consisting of 2 marketing, 6 sales, 2 operations, 2 sponsorship sales/delivery, and 4 content/design. Delivered an industry first for exhibitions including an online store on JD.COM (one of the world’s largest ecommerce platforms) ensuring visitors could immediately ‘see now & buy now’ plus all content was live streamed. Media 10 restructured their business in June 2016. China was an important growth area and I took a promotion to sit on the Media 10 China board of directors traveling extensively from UK to China every three weeks. Outcomes:Set-up of the Shanghai office and recruited staff for the upcoming Ideal Home Show which involved the training of a high performance sales team and the implementation of improved sales policies and practices. Launched the Xintiandi Design Festival (a brand extension of Design Shanghai). The role involved working with a major property group in Shanghai who sponsored and hosted the event and a variety of international designers to curate a 2 week design festival. The management of this project included job functions in operations, sponsorship sales, budget management, marketing and event delivery. Show less
