The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance (TRA) is a not-for-profit citizen action group. The town is located at the juncture of Lake George and Lake Champlain, and with 5,000 residents is the largest town in this rural area. The town economy has suffered over the last decades leaving a number of empty store fronts, limited employment options and significant income gap between local and summer residence. TRA works in partnership with the Town and other relevant groups to rejuvenate the downtown and surrounding small towns. TRA’s primary focus is on economic revitalization that will generate employment and encourage young people to remain in this scenic rural area. This includes improvements in the business environment and availability of economic incentives and gap financing to encourage businesses that will attract visitors to the area as a destination location.
