Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the retail business. (The business competed with Spar, OK, and Sasol which were in a 2km radius) and monitoring the price of items from various suppliers to ensure the purchase of goods are bought at a competitive price and to ensure profit margins are met at the end of the month and drive customer growth towards the store. •Manage wet stock by ordering fuel while monitoring daily fuel levels to ensure the correct quantity is ordered at the correct time to meet demand and avoid a shortage of fuel. •Communicate and Liaise with the oil companies BC to ensure all laws and regulations governing the business have been adhered too e.g. Safety procedures are implemented and followed, documentation of the site is updated and promotional campaigns are set up. •Managing and being responsible for 20 employees including all human resource functions of the business which included Payroll of all employees, scheduling fortnight working rosters for attendants and cashiers, handling and resolving employee disputes, scheduling disciplinary proceedings where necessary, and representing the company in certain disciplinary hearings. •Office functions included filling supplier invoices in the correct manner and file, processing payments for invoices, and answering the telephone.
