      My Ph.D. project revolves around correlations between the maturation of the teenage brain and learning (motivation and social cognition, in particular). Apart from accounting for these correlations, the project intends to describe the research field exploring neuronal/cognitive aspects of motivation for learning in adolescence. Finally, it will be suggested how these insights can contribute to didactics related to upper secondary education. This is partly carried out by using a theoretical frame based on Luhmann's social systems theory. As part of my ph.d.program, I have been teaching graduate students in: - Learning Theory (Behaviorism, Cognitive Learning Theories, Science of Learning according to research shedding light on brain and behavioral development (including memory systems, emotional aspects of learning, the role of sleep/breaks and physical exercise), motivation theories) - High school teaching and practice (pedagogy, didactics, the use of IT in teaching) Show less
