Freelance Translator
-
Nov 1999 - Present
I started working as a translator in 1999 when a friend of mine who worked for Visi Info Promo was having difficulties in finding a substitute translator. I was then regularly entrusted with translations for television series. My body of work includes Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Johnny Bravo, Bobby's World, Destination Space, and Head-to-Head with Parni Hadi. In 2004 I shifted to book translation. Publishers such as Mizan (Kaifa, Orange Books), Gramedia (Elex Media Komputindo, GGM), and Kesaint Blanc have used my services. Once in a while I accepted jobs from various clients, among them In Prima Communication, Ericsson, Mitra Netra, and so forth. Show less

Aug 2020 - Present
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, it became apparent to me that I need to do something to help underprivileged and marginal children and families under Cahaya Anak Negeri to keep having a steady income. After giving a lot of thought, the idea of developing a product which Indonesian people love but is cheap enough to be bought by anyone came about. The final selected product was Cilok Jepret Astronot (CJA). Andi Suhandi, the co-founder of CJA, created the recipes. All cilok were filled with one of these ingredients: Cheese, spicy chicken, chicken, and rawon. Cheese wasn't well received. Therefore, there are only three variants left. Up until now, it has become apparent that the entrepreneurship program has been successful ini uplifting the economy. I hope it will remain to thrive and help people in need. Show less

Academic Manager

Apr 2006 - Apr 2011
I began working for Universitas Islam 45 (UNISMA) Bekasi in 2006 as the Head of the Communication Studies Department just before the Communication, Literature, and Language Faculty was established. Working at the rector's office, I helped in designing the curriculum, the faculty's office, selecting competent lecturers, and creating promotion schemes to ensure a quota of ten students could be accomplished. After two years, I took some time off to focus on aiding pupils at Sanggar Anak Matahari (now Cahaya Anak Negeri) and Zainuttaqwa. Then I worked for the university again as the Academic Manager until 2011 when I got married and decided to raise my own family. Show less
