I was a temporary part time barista at Bee Street Espresso for the Summer between my Sophomore and Junior year of college. In this position I received in depth training to ensure I learned drinks that were specials to the stand. I gained more customer service experience by speaking to several a day in a fast-paced environment while also keeping the quick visit personable. I ran a cash register where I had to ensure I was charging the right amount for drinks and was also returning the correct amount of change if necessary. At the end of the shift, I had to ensure I completed a list of items before being able to go home. Such as counting the till and thorough cleaning (i.e., clean the coffee machine, sweep, mop, wipe down counters, etc.) Show less

I was a temporary cashier while I was home from college for the Summer. I used Point of Sale programs for sales, returns, and exchanges for products of the store. I also did inventory, stocked the front end shelves with smaller products, and put away returns and exchanges. I also had to have good communication skills with my co-workers since I would have to tell them if I needed assistance for customers or myself.
