I have extensive research experience on the development of thin film phosphors by ion implantation for flat panel displays, and have conducted pioneering work on silicon-based biomaterials for tissue engineering application, fabrication of advanced radiation detectors, and development of filterless solar blind UV photodiodes based on SOI technology. My biomedical related research also include development of a new technique for depositing mutli-functional hydroxyapatite coatings at room temperature. Additionally, I have developed novel optoelectronic devices using quantum-confined Si nano-structures, leading to the fabrication of the first room temperature-operated Si-based visible light emitting diodes. . I have authored or co-authored over 50 reviewed articles in the field of semiconductors, optoelectronics, and biomaterials.
