We held a birthday party at Rock Spot Climbing. We were extremely impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff. Each of them had years of rock climbing experience. The indoor rock climbing was so much fun. What an outstanding use of the indoor space! Our group consisted of children who had never climbed before. They had different physical strengths. The staff worked so patiently with each of them, encouraging them, and helping them so that ultimately everyone was able to reach the top of the walls! They taught the kids how to use the different types of equipment and how to belay as well as rappel. Everyone wanted to come back the next day! While we were there, we saw experience adult climbers enjoying the facility, too. This was a great introduction to the sport, and so much more than the small, rock climbing walls that are sometime available at amusement parks. I highly recommend Rock Spot Climbing in Massachusetts or the RI Rock Gym for all levels, and ages, of climbers.

Just outside of downtown Boston, the newest and most exciting climbing facility in the region is Rock Spot Climbing. Catering to “All Ages, All Abilities,” with 9,000 square feet of climbing terrain and a massive bouldering area, Rock Spot is one of the most exciting climbing facilities built in recent years. With a 16’ tall bouldering area that comprises half of the gym, over 100 boulder problems constantly changing, and every wall topping out completely, this gym is a boulderer’s dream. Rock Spot is located just off of I-95 and less than a 5 minute walk from the commuter rail, for easy access for all types of climbers in the Greater Boston area. Beginners and experts alike can enjoy Rock Spot. The facility offers after-school and summer camp youth programs, and is certified for Boy and Girl Scout Merit Badges. The top-roped half of the gym features a center tower with an arch, slab climbs for beginners, and an overhanging section for the more advanced climber. Portions of the gym are also lead-able, there is a training and campus wall area, and Rock Spot’s full-service retail shop carries arguably the largest selection of climbing shoes and harnesses in the region.
