  Title: "Real Reaction Kinetics for the Production and Utilisation of Advanced Biofuels"Supervisor: Prof. Stephen Dooley, School of Physics, Trinity College Dublin.Research funded by funded by Science Foundation Ireland under award 13/SIRG/2185. - Research conducted independently at the University of Limerick while collaborating with a research team at Trinity College Dublin. - Through experimental and process modelling methods, developed and characterised a reaction system that can convert biomass material to tailorable mixtures of biofuel components, establishing the underlying reaction mechanism of the system, and explored how such biofuel mixtures could be blended with current petroleum derived fuels.- Presented the novel aspects of the research project at four international and national conferences and published several papers in peer-reviewed journals (listed at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Micheal_Howard). - Contributed to two successful research funding proposals for continuing work on my research project.- Contributed to an invention disclosure and patent application for my research project.
