The Research Officer sits within the Research team which is a part of International Programmes & Research (IPR) department. The main project I am working on is “Stopping As Success: Locally Led Transitions in Development” (SAS+), a collaborative learning project that looks into how to make INGO transitions more responsible. The project, now in its second phase, aims to enable development partnerships to be more locally led, for transitions to be more effective and sustainable for local people, and for development practitioners to be more responsive to local dynamics. “Stopping As Success: Locally Led Transitions in Development” (SAS+) is a collaborative learning project that looks into how to make INGO transitions more responsible. Myself and my colleagues created the Minorities in Peace and Security (MPS) organisation to bring those from marginalised communities to the center stage of policy making and international affairs. We are working to create a network of individuals of colour, regardless of economic background and gender identity, who want to see a world rid of racism, misogyny, and other forms of discrimination. • Board Member & Head of Communications and Social Media
      • Apr 2020 - Apr 2022

Amb. Bonnie Jenkins has expanded WCAPS into the UK. WCAPS focuses on improving policy in the security and peace field by including minority voices championed by women of colour, allowing for more informed decision making. The UK branch of WCAPS will have its official launch event in Spring 2020. In the meanwhile, we will be connecting with institutions and electing a board, as well as an advisory council and organising committee. As well as creating an online presence for the UK chapter, I am also the co-host of the podcast "Got Melanin?" with Mari Faines, who also works with me on communications and social media. Show less
