extremely hard working, passionate and love children. We have a day-dreamer creative son. Melanie kept him highly motivated while he was at Acadecap. A great teacher that is hard to find.

Mélanie and I have worked together at Académie de la Capitale since 2009. In 2009, Mélanie was teaching homeroom at the elementary level and currently, Mélanie is Académie de la Capitale's Primary Years Program Coordinator and Marketing Director. When I became part of the team, it was clear that Mélanie was a colleague I could look to for support and rely on as I was familiarizing myself with the IB PYP program. She took time out of her day to share resources, spent time with me after school to strengthen my French language skills and invited me into her class to watch how she taught a variety of lessons. If I could use one word to describe Mélanie, it would be passionate. This translates into everything that she does. If you are a teacher, you know that there are certain people, whether they are a teacher, a volunteer or an early childhood educator, that you know you can count on for the countless things you may need as you can not possibly do it all yourself! Mélanie is that person. She is reliable and trustworthy; someone who, if on your team, brings success to the team on all levels. Parents of the students at our school trust Mélanie with their child's education and her students look up to her. This year, a few of Mélanie's past students requested that she be their mentor for their PYP Exposition, which speaks volumes about the relationship she has built with her students. The past few years, Mélanie has taken on the role of marketing our school. Since then, our school's online presence has grown tremendously. Her internet savvy and knowledge of social media and technology is among her greatest skills. Teachers have partook in activities such as the Global Read Aloud due to the connections Mélanie has made with other educators around the world. Teachers who had not previously been introduced to class blogging and other platforms for which they can share resources, ideas, and more have now done so with the support of Mélanie. Parents of our students are equally appreciative as they are more easily able to see what is going on in their child's classroom. Recently, Mélanie's position has included PYP Coordinator. It was not a stretch from what Mélanie had already been doing from her own desire to help others, the common goal being the student’s learning. Her straightforward yet diplomatic nature and knowledge of the IB Program made her the ideal candidate for the coordination and implementation of the Primary Years Program. As the Primary Years Program Coordinator, she has made sure everyone is well informed regarding timelines and curriculum and scheduled weekly meetings to touch base with all teachers. This was especially helpful for teachers who had recently joined our team. In short, Mélanie’s passion, positivity and drive create an energy that every school, or workplace, should have. She has been an outstanding teacher, Primary Years Program Coordinator, marketer and friend! Nora Ibrahim
