  •Undertake the design of structures associated with infrastructure projects including:o Buried and above ground water retaining tanks associated with foul water, potable water and treated sewage effluent (TSE)o Water towers for potable water storage• Prepare design criteria related to the structure, such as: intended use of building, loading, materials of construction, stability provisions, fire resistance, codes and standards to be used in the design• Liaise/coordinate with other departments and specialist consultants/contractors to incorporate their requirements• Prepare engineering analysis and design, in accordance with internationally recognized design codes and standards, utilizing analysis & design software• Implement the departmental QA/QC standards for design documentation and procedures• Instruct the AutoCAD technicians on the drawing requirements in order to communicate clearly, unambiguously and concisely the design information to the contractors• Assist in the guidance and training of junior engineers, supervise their work, and encourage their professional development• Provide technical support to site based supervision staff (for checking contractor’s submittals, responding to RFI's etc.)• Represent the company and the structural department at meetings, both in-house and with other external parties• Communicate effectively with other professionals, clients, contractors- both verbally and in writing Show less
