As part of this capacity-building project, it was my duty to adjust the program to the needs of Vietnamese students and the local labor market. Besides the program coordination, I developed extra-curricular activities with the aim to improve the students' employability. Long-term relationships with the top management of international companies like Adecco, Bayer, Mercedes-Benz evolved, still providing graduates with internship and employment opportunities. Beside the administrative position, I followed several post-doctoral research projects: Investigation of the impact of ethnic diversity on (financial) solidarity in village communities in the highlands; evaluation of the effectiveness of a newly introduced insurance scheme for aquaculture farmers in the Mekong Delta; as well as social-economic factors driving childhood obesity in Vietnam's urban centres.
