Joe truly is a digital citizen. His understanding of social media is fundamental and his ability to implement that understanding is of the highest caliber. Joe was a great manager and I enjoyed interning under him.

Rose Sherman

When I hired Joe, I asked him to help our organization expand our Web 2.0 services and participation in communities. He helped us colonize the web with information about our collections and events via Flickr, YouTube and Wikipedia. He helped us engage with our communities via blogs, wikis, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and other social media web sites. He helped us migrate our web analytics to Google Analytics. In all instances, his foremost concern was with identifying niche communities, providing content of interest to them, interacting with them, presenting our organization in a personal, approachable, voice yet honoring the authenticity and professional expertise we are known for, and making our treasured content findable through increased SEO. Our fan and follower base grew exponentially with Joe's work. Several peer organizations contacted us to find out what is our secret sauce. One of the main ingredients was Joe.
