The Tropical Forest Conservation Act (TFCA) Kalimantan is a joint program of the Government of Indonesia and the US Government, in partnership with TNC and WWF-Indonesia. This program is part of a debt transfer scheme to support sustainable development, promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, and reduce long-term emissions, by supporting the Berau Forest Carbon Program-PKHB (www.karbonhutanberau.org) and Heart of Borneo-HoB Program (www.heartofborneo.or.id), in Berau Regency, West Kutai Regency (East Kalimantan Province) and Kapuas Hulu Regency (West Kalimantan Province). The TFCA Kalimantan program will run until 2019, implemented through the distribution of grant funds managed by the Administrator (Yayasan KEHATI) to eligible NGOs/KSMs whose proposals have been approved by the TFCA Kalimantan Oversight Committee. The request for TFCA Kalimantan Project Concept Submission for Cycle I 2013 was only conducted on May 8, 2013. The Oversight Committee consists of four permanent members representing the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministry of Forestry), the United States Government (USAID), TNC, and the World Wide Fund-Indonesia (WWF Indonesia), and one non-permanent member currently representing Pelangi Foundation. More information about the TFCA Kalimantan Program can be found at www.tfcakalimantan.org Follow the progress report on the implementation of the TFCA Kalima Program.
