The overall objective of the post is to provide medical and public health leadership in one portfolio of countries, to ensure MSF-OCA interventions effectively address the health needs of the populations we serve. This requires a close working relationship with the Operations Manager in order to develop, lead and ensure implementation of new strategies and interventions. The Health Advisor has a functional line directly to the medical coordinator for each country in the field . Currently I have Zimbabwe TB/HIV,Psychaitry and prison projects; PNG with Sexual Violence and Surgical projects and Chad mission with Emergency response, Nutrition program, Mother and Child care and Surgical program.

At that time I was overseeing and supporting Mental Health program in Iraq, emergency response,lead poisoning, mother and child care in Nigeria;emergency response program in Yemen; complex TB/HIV and humanitarian program in Myanmar and for short time supporing humanitarian program in Ethiopia.

Medical Coordinator

MSF support Malawi Minstry of Health in providing HIV/TB care for a cohort of 31,000 active patients (at that time) in a remote region called Chiradzulu District .The medical Coordinator participates and leads the process of defining medical objectives, linking it to the organization’s intervention logic and ensures its implementation, he participate in rationalizing resources needed such Medical supplies, human resources, etc), follow and safeguard medical protocols, patients safety as well as contribute to the development of new operational and management models, and innovative approaches.

Medical Referent Doctor

The post was based in Bocaranga in Northern CAR. MSF was doing an emergency relief project in unstable war torn zone in Central Africa. Main tasks for the Medical Referent Doctors were to lead the medical team to plan and implement medical and humanitarian intervention that includes primary and secondary health care with a nutrition component

That includes Malakal,Adong,Attar,Ulang,Nasir and other stations.I was working as a clinican providing care to those patients, and then promoted to a TB program coordinator.In addition to these activities, MSF was supporting the Paediatrics ward and responded to Cholera outbreak and war/violence related situations.
