Completed 5 projects in 6 months: responsibilities include geo-technical investigation and construction inspection (Footing, Roofing, Waterproofing and Fireproofing), compaction testing (Engineering fill, sub-grade, and granular base, Trench Backfill and Foundation/Retaining Wall Backfill), concrete testing (Slump test) with/ without air, monitoring the cut and fill required on a job site, identifying/reporting engineering challenges:-- Inspect the soil to check for material suitability and report findings to site supervisors/clients: follow company protocol regarding inappropriate soil and administer recommendations/modifications.-- Supervise site crew (3 machine operators) to ensure adherence to plan, safety, and optimal productivity.-- Inspect native grounds during excavation to ensure the proposed subgrade is stable and hard for future construction: if substandard, inform site supervisor and propose appropriate allternative engineering solution (i.e. add 6 inches of crushed stone in trench excavation for site servicing).-- Read/interpret construction drawings to monitor, cut, and fill elevations; and perform calculations to establish different stake elevations using a laser device: verify specs to ensure accuracy.-- Respond to problems/challenges as they arise - i.e. soil material with high moisture content; low dry density - if ground has wet material and soft spots; and dewatering - if water table is encountered during excavation: resolve issues through active listening, observing, and problem solving.-- Ensure complete inspection: apply nuclear gauge/proof rolling techniques to ensure ground stability; bring in situ material to lab for proctor test; and cast concrete cylinder for compressive strength testing.
