I performed mechanical design and structural analysis in support of the HEO (Highly Elliptical Earth Orbit) and GEO (Geosynchronous Earth Orbit) payloads for the Air Force SBIRS (Space Based Infrared System) program. My responsibilities included solid modeling, drafting, and finite element analysis. My responsibilities included solid modeling, drafting, and finite element analysis. I also wrote technical reports and frequently hosted design reviews, as well as a weekly interface meeting with our subcontractors at Lockheed Martin. I was the lead mechanical designer for the HEO sensor test, one of the program’s major milestones, and designed the mechanical configuration for testing the infrared sensors in a vacuum chamber at cryogenic temperatures. I worked closely with test, thermal, manufacturing, and systems engineering to identify requirements, find design solutions, develop schedules, and resolve issues that arose during the procurement, manufacture, or assembly of components. I oversaw the test configuration from concept to production and received an award for timely execution. I performed structural analysis in support of the Shuttle program. My responsibilities included constructing a solid model of the Orbiter overhead window from existing drawings and performing finite element analysis to validate a proposed design change. I also managed a database of defect reports and assisted with other programs as needed. I performed structural analysis in support of the Shuttle program.
