During the period from 2007 through 2008 I was working with Murad Sadikhov who was at that time Business Development Advisor for Midstream business activities in BP Azerbaijan. Murad was accountable for maximising value from Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline through external negotiations and ensuring the most optimal utilization of pipeline capacity. Being new to BP company Murad very quickly became very valuable and respected member of the team. He used his previous vast experience to protect and enhance company value. Murad used very professionally his deep knowledge of economics and management theory combined with his practical approach and good understanding of the dynamics of business in Azerbaijan. Murad’s outstanding communication skills are still remembered in the company despite it is almost 10 years since he left BP. Using his friendly style he managed to find common ground with different people adapting his approach in a natural and respectful manner. I strongly believe that Murad’s extensive experience, leadership skills and ability to work under pressure to deliver within tight deadlines would be a great addition for any asset in any country.
