Hope service is a specialised mental health service that provides support to asylum seekers, refugees and victims of trafficking. We provide mental health support to those who have experienced extreme trauma and as a result are experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We also deliver wellbeing initiatives within the community to support individuals at a time of great change and stress. My role includes supporting and assisting clinical staff with planning and facilitating trauma therapy and stabilisation groups. I also regularly review literature relevant to our service and contribute to the development of the service. Show less

Recruitment Administrator
-
Dec 2019 - May 2021
I was responsible for working alongside the Healthcare education team which focused primarily on medical and dental recruitments, this included planning and supporting recruitment events, maintaining systems and liaising with multiple stakeholders. In order to fulfil my responsibilities, I was required to gain an in depth understanding of the complexities of the NHS and healthcare environments. Communication was crucial in this role, as the fast paced environment and constant changes required me to familiarise myself with senior staff, stake holders, and be comfortable to converse and negotiate targets and deadlines. Supervisor
-
Jun 2018 - Sep 2018
SLV provides volunteers with the chance to gain hands on mental health experience by organising and running session with a variety of service users in clinical and community centres. As a supervisor my main role was to oversea the successful running of all volunteering projects, and encouraging volunteers to plan engaging and untried activities for service users. I was also responsible for providing volunteers with pastoral care, as many found the distance from home and friends challenging.
