Assistant Manager; Dean's Office Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
-
Sep 2013 - Mar 2019
At NUS FASS Dean's office, I was part of the team to ensure our undergraduates graduate and receive their due awards on time. I was involved in operations to ensure the budding cycles went smoothly during go-live, analysed statistics and provided reports and improvements to our Vice Deans post bidding. I also run the day to day of our Office of Multidisciplinary Minor Programmes such as budgeting and procurement of essential items. The university underwent a change from bidding of modules to preallocation and I represented FASS to build the new system with the university. In addition, new compulsory WEC modules were added to which I set up the entire process of modules allocation from the resources planning and projections to the post implementation review at the end. Lastly, I was able to lead and mentor 2 support staff under my care to improve on their work efficiency and even assist them to take on higher level roles in their next career destination. Show less

As a teacher, I not just teach, but also innovate and spark interests in my students' learning. Beyond teaching, I also mentor and groom students who face difficulty in their social lives through sharing of personal experiences and advices to enlighten them. Teaching has allowed me to view the world through a pair of lens coated with empathy and as a result, I aspire to always work to serve our people. At the Health Services Research (HSR), I assisted PIs with data collection and data entry. I picked up data collection skills while working on the research project to improve waiting times in the SGH A&E. Post data collection, I also cleaned up the raw data and performed data entry to make the data readable. I also collated journal entries from PIs and reported it in the annual publications for the HSR. At the Health Services Research (HSR), I assisted PIs with data collection and data entry.
