  A Master degree developing research techniques, laboratory practice, problem solving, team work, decision making and work efficiency in groups. My research for the fulfillment of MSc takes 6 months in the synthesis of organic compounds (THTT) which are biologically active in the medicinal lab of institute of chemical science. Thesis Abstract A series of 3,5-disubstituted tetrahydro-2H-1,3,5-thaidiazine-2-thiones (THTT) have been synthesized by the reaction of primary amines with carbon disulfide, followed by the cyclo-condensation of the resulting intermediate with formaldehyde and selected primary amines or amino acids. The structures of the synthesized compounds were characterized using FT-IR. Ninhydrin was used as locating reagent for detection of primary amine, presence of Sulfur was ascertained using lassaigne’s test. Melting points were measured using gallen kamp melting point apparatus in open capillaries. The target compounds were isolated in moderated to good yield ranging 40 to 92%.. Show less
