As the General Manager of the Tanker Fleet Division, my primary objective was to establish Jasa Merin Labuan PLC as a major player in domestic and near coastal shipping, focusing on CPP, Chemicals (e.g. MTBE, Para xylene, Methanol) and Palm oil trading within Malaysia and Southeast Asia countries. Our clientele includes Oil/ Chemical Traders, Oil Majors and Palm Oil traders, and we aim to continue expanding our tanker segment size ranging from 7K to 12K dwt.My responsibilities included Overseeing the efficiency of JML fleets, which included the management of IMO Type II Chemicals & Oil Product Tankers operations, regulatory compliance, safety and security, crewing, supply chain & logistics. I successfully reduced the operations cost significantly while minimizing vessel downtime to maximize the utilization rate, in line with corporate strategy.
