Platoon sergeant of Changi Defence Squadron which is responsible for Security within the Naval Base. My job entailed overseeing security operations within Changi Naval Base. This included but was not limited to: - Overseeing Personnel and Vehicle Access Points into the base - Ensuring Ops readiness of all Troopers on duty - Planning of duty schedules - Conducting training - Enforcing discipline within the Platoon The skills i learnt during my time In national Service have really given me the idea of how working life will roughly be like in general. As i was a platoon sergeant in my unit, my job entailed working with my superior Officers as well as my troopers under me by serving as the bridge between them so as to ensure both administrative and Operation matters run smoothly. I believe this has taught me skills that are especially important in a middle-management role like ensuring that day to day routines as well as administrative matters run smoothly with accordance to the organisation's needs which in my case was ensuring military law was enforced and Ops and documents were all in order.
