I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with an BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, qualifying from University of Derby in 2020. My journey leading up to becoming a qualified Occupational Therapist I have been an individual who has always tried to access new learning and training opportunities internally and externally through university placements, as well as working as a healthcare assistant in mental health settings. Through this journey I have always attempted to stay up to date with current climates and work policies through reflections and completing all mandatory trainings required (E-learning). I keep written records of all patient interactions which are up to date, accurate, concise and legible. I have basic knowledge of computer skills. I have excellent listening skills and am able to communicate through verbal and nonverbal communication, including the use of the telephone and email systems. I currently regularly attend morning handover meetings, discussing service users physical and mental state as well as providing in put when required. In previous placements I played a big part in feeding back to MDT’s discussing service current state, future recommendations as well discussing discharge. I manage my time efficient and affectively, prioritised caseloads on a daily basis to meet the needs of my service as well as facilitate timely discharge. I have completed my moving and handling training in university as well as placements therefore, I am able to complete moving and handling techniques with patients using a range of moving & handling aids, such as hoists, rotundas and E-tac transfer aids, as well as completed additional training on the job during my time in UHDB & UHL On a personal note I feel that I am suited in many roles within Occupational therapy, through experience in vital and pressurised areas. I am an enthusiastic, caring professional who works well both autonomously and within a team. Show less
