My day to day responsibilities include making calls on behalf of the NHS. As I continuously volunteered to solve IT issues a new role was created for me. I was the first point of contact for any IT issues. I also volunteered to create an end of day report, to help identify any trends or patterns. Assisted the shift runner and worked with my team to provide an excellent customer service and maintain a high hygienic standard. Senior staff entrusted me to cash drivers and train up new team members. My manager was confident in my abilities and thus could entrust me to close the store by myself while he finished his paperwork. Volunteering at a care home has developed my appreciation for the compassion and commitment required by medical professionals. Sufferers of dementia for instance, need support with bathing and feeding; abilities often taken for granted. With an ever-increasing diverse society, I feel my fluency in multiple languages (German, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi) will allow me to connect with a diverse range of people. This came to light whilst feeding a dementia patient, who spoke little English. As we could converse fluently in his mother tongue we built a trusting relationship which allowed me to communicate my compassion and sympathy with ease, overcoming barriers relieving his stress, while developing my communication skills. Using my IT skills I created various posters, banners and IT activities for residents to take part in and develop their own IT skills.
