I have known Kathy for a little over a year as a Co-Lead for ProMatch, working with her as a team-training manager, and as a Facilitation Skills team trainer for a volunteer-led and driven professional organization assisting Silicon Valley professionals in career transition. She’s shown great skills in curriculum design, training delivery and team leadership. I have consistently been impressed with Kathy’s professionalism, preparedness and good humor. I’ve seen Kathy do individualized coaching, team leadership and group facilitation with humor, grace and complete professionalism. She always goes above and beyond the call. She’s thoughtful and fun to work with. When I write recommendations like these, I always try to ask myself,

Facilitator; Co-Lead, Coach: Training and Development team (volunteer)
-
Feb 2014 - Mar 2019
ProMatch is a volunteer-run career resource center providing targeted workshops and career coaching to 200+ job-seekers in Silicon Valley. I facilitated monthly interactive train-the-trainer workshops as part of the effort to improve facilitation skills across the organization. I was one of four leaders of the 80+ constantly-changing facilitators who made sure that the workshop is always professional, effective and engaging. I previously co-led a team of 40+ volunteers who delivered 3 communication-related workshops per month and provided weekly drop-in coaching, helping over 90 people per month distinguish themselves in job search and career development activities. I took the lead on improving the curriculum and training materials for the team's workshops and consistently received excellent reviews for facilitating up to 3 workshops per month. I also did one-on-one coaching of individuals on resume development and personal branding statements.

Rector Search Committee Member (volunteer)
-
Aug 2011 - May 2012
Part of 12-person committee to recommend a short list of candidates for position of rector. As a committee: researched requirements and desires of congregation, assembled list of desired qualities in a candidate, authored questions for written, phone and in-person evaluation of candidates, developed ways to measure the responses. Conducted phone and in-person interviews. After evaluation of candidates' responses and interviews, discussed and narrowed down the number of candidates and presented the final small number of candidates to the church vestry (leadership group) with an information packet on each. I was part of a 3-person subgroup that developed rubrics to evaluate written responses and presented them to the committee for use. I initiated and led a subgroup to evaluate a larger sampling of sermons for candidates, attempting to measure both objective (content) and subjective (style, presentation) aspects.
