Marin and I worked in the same department for many years. Most of the time, we didn't work together on the same projects or in the same line management. Even then, when I didn't exactly see him in action, I could tell about all of his great virtues. We were fellow team leaders, comparing our experiences and sharing our knowledge. Only for a shorter period, he was my direct report. I enjoyed every sync with him because of his great personality and contagious drive to continuously improve everything. Of his countless qualities, I would point out assertiveness, high energy, approachability, and contagious ambition. He was never afraid to take the initiative and was ready to fulfill any role needed in a team at the time (and when he did, he did it diligently). He worked systematically and pushed best practices in order. If I could choose my "All-Stars Team" for the rest of my life, Marin would be one of the stars on it.
