Taking over a global role at Maxam’s HQ in Madrid, Spain, I joined the Manufacturing Department to support the deployment of the manufacturing standards and initiatives over the more than 50 industrial sites located worldwide. My achievements and responsibilities include:-Established a Project Management methodology (PMP based) to execute new industrial projects achieving controls of deviation in schedule and cost-Standardized the Operational Readiness Plan and Commissioning Procedure for new industrial sites-Take over Project Manager role for key industrial projects reporting to Project Sponsors, leading the overall project cycle from design coordination, construction, operational readiness plan, commissioning and hand-over-Train global team members on Project Management methodology, adequate implementation of industrialization procedures and on-site commissioning-Track industrial sites performance indicators (KPI) to establish benchmarks and identify issues and potential improvements-Support industrial excellence system, Lean based, by seeking efficiencies to increase productivity, using tools such non-OEE analysis or Value Stream Mapping (VSM)- Support and maintain the implementation of industrial Maintenance Model, based on Lean Methodology

In 2015 Maxam started operations in South East Asia with the establishment of a Company and office in Singapore. With the aim to set up a manufacturing facility and pursue new projects in the region, I took over the following responsibilities and achievements:- Successfully negotiated a contract for the Underwater Blasting execution at the Tuas Terminal Phase I Project for Maritime Port Authority of Singapore- Coordinated subsidiary set up in Singapore, achieving a fully operative company within few months- Negotiated with local partners to support the business model for the Region- Led the entire process to set up a manufacturing facility, from licensing to commissioning- Developed supply chain model to distribute products and services within the region- Coordinated implementation of Safety, Quality, Environment and Security (HSEQ + EMS) corporate policies in each of the working centers complying with international standards- Prepared Annual Budget setting the goals for every new Fiscal Year

In 2009 Maxam was awarded the contract to execute the Underwater Blasting activities for the Panama Canal Expansion Project, considered the largest civil engineering project of the 21st century. That contract was followed by the collaboration in The Third Set of Locks Project and the Pacific Access Channel- 4 (both for the Panama Canal Expansion Project). Maxam soon became the only explosive supplier a service provider for the entire Project, exceeding expectations in terms of technical support, quality and overall performance. Until the Canal was inaugurated on 2016, Maxam had executed more than 3,500 blast with the highest standards of safety, quality and environment. In my role as General Manager and Project Leader I:- Successfully completed Panama Canal Expansion Project, resulting in global recognition for the service and support provided- Developed new businesses and customers to guarantee company presence after Panama Canal Project completion, resulting in contracts for the next 5 years- Directed all facets of the business, including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Human Resources and Operations- Took on full P&L responsibility and improved Company’s financial indicators (gross margin, working capital, cash management), exceeding the goals set by the corporation every fiscal year- Led a team of 40 members, managing their engagement and commitment during the Project- Built trustworthy relationships with clients, suppliers, shareholders and other stakeholders

As Operations Engineer for the subsidiary, my responsibilities included: complete management o the manufacturing facility; control of inventories and logistics of raw materials; and cooridnate resources to supply products and provide services to the project under tight schedules and high demand.- Optimized production processes and services provided, increasing capacity of supply required by the Project- Reduced inventories and slow moving products improving KPI in operations and finance- Designed new supply chain solution reducing product cost and lead times- Recruited and trained personnel for the project minimizing claims from the customers and resulting in high customer satisfaction- Contributed to design value proposition for customers and new tenders resulting in more than 5 new projects awarded during this period

In 2011 Maxam was awarded the execution of the Underwater Blasting actitvities for the Santos Port Expansion Project. Under strict environmental regulations, we managed to complete the Project succesfully without any Non Conformity. - Worked in tough and remote environments in Gold Mine Projects in Ghana, training workers to successfully execute the activities- Executed underwater blasting project in Santos Port Expansion Project in Brazil exceeding client expectations on strict environmental requirements- Acted as a night shift foreman leading a team of 15

Project Engineer

Cyopsa-Sisocia was awarded the construction of the motorway A-22 Lleida - Huesca, Variante Binefar (€38 Million).
