Great developer to work with . Clean Code all the way and has helped me a lot in learning how to clean code as well. Awesome dev to have when you working as QA as he has same level of critical thinking that you need to test systems as well.

Kevin is an excellent software developer. One of the best team members that I worked with. Other than his superb technical skills, his friendly and patient personality makes him the ideal asset for any team. He is always 100% committed to get the job done with the highest quality of coding style and results. During my work experience with him in the same team, I learned a lot from him and truly enjoyed working with him in the same team. I have a few excellent mentors in my career and Kevin without any doubt was one of them.

My primary role at PTC is to lead new feature development. I work all over the product in both the client and the server code areas. I have “ownership” responsibilities for certain parts of the product - particularly in the security code. But I am also responsible for code maintenance, bug fixing, customer incidents and creating customer hot fixes. As a senior member of R&D I act as a leader and mentor on my agile team. We use Agile/Scrum as our development methodology. I have, on occasion, acted as a Scrum Master. I try to promote clean coding practices and I have been a leader in promoting automated testing (both unit and functional). I also work directly with Product Management to plan and estimate new product features before they appear in the teams backlog. Show less

At Buystream I designed and developed an multi-tier architecture for a line of ‘Web Site Analytics’ software products. The presentation was implemented using HTML and JavaScript with some XML and XSL transforms. The middle tiers were implemented in C++ using ADO to access the tables and stored procedures in the database (Microsoft SQL Server). As the senior developer at Buystream I was responsible for all technical aspects of the software development. I promoted a professional development environment, ensuring design/code reviews, proper source management and a nightly build process. I participated in all phases of development from original requirements definition to maintenance and support. I successfully participated in multiple releases of each product. Show less

As the lead developer for the Authenticator team (12 developers) at Cognos I was responsible for developing a 'security' framework for all Cognos Business Intelligence products. The framework was directory enabled using LDAP and provided core authentication/authorization services. It was originally designed to be used in a client/server architecture and is written in C++ (using STL) for all Windows and Unix platforms. It was later adapted to run in a web environment (3-tier architecture). It has both Windows (C++ using MFC) and Web (CGI with HTML and JavaScript) user interfaces. It was also my responsibility to communicate on a technical level with the other BI product groups. I presented design and architecture to other Senior Developers, Software Architects and Product Managers. I worked closely with management to ensure schedules were technically feasible and release dates understood and honoured. I successfully saw the ‘security’ framework ship with multiple releases of the Cognos BI products. Show less
