I develop Perception for autonomous driving, based on external cameras in the infrastructure such as a car factory or parking garage. As one of the first 10 employees, I have worked on many things, including:• improving precision of 6 DoF vehicle pose prediction substantially, down to < 10cm• improving calibration of camera intrinsics by factor 5• improving calibration of camera extrinsics and localization on map, good enough for rendering digital twins• improving ground truth data collection with lidars; using them for SLAM• 3d reconstruction with photogrammetry from drone images + creating ground truth from it• creating synthetic training data with NeRF• monocular depth prediction• open set object detection / anomaly detection...I have also been involved in hiring, enjoy mentoring, and occasionally have led the ML team for some weeks when needed.
