As Morgan’s program supervisor at Voices for Children, I have had the honor to observe the wonderful work she is doing as the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer for two young foster children in San Diego’s dependency system. Through her time, dedication, and thorough investigation, Morgan advocates in and outside of the courtroom for what she believes is in the children's best interest. She does so by visiting the children frequently and communicating with the numerous professionals on their case including social workers, therapists, attorneys, teachers, and foster parents. Around Christmas 2010, Morgan's case became particularly contentious. Through it all, Morgan maintained her objectivity, professionalism, and focus on the children. During one of the many court hearings for the children, the dependency court judge commended Morgan for her dedication to the case and expressed his appreciation of the valuable information she provided to him so that he could make important decisions for the children. Furthermore, other professionals on the case, including social workers and therapists, have individually expressed to me their gratitude and appreciation of Morgan's work with the children. I am confident that Morgan is bringing about positive change to lives of the children she works with.
