  MOON is a unique innovation tackling three major development obstacles: • Access to energy: MOON offers a PAYG energy service via a plug-and-play, tropicalized and connected, solar home system (“SHS”). In addition, the use, payment and maintenance of the SHS are facilitated by a simple interface, wallet and tutorials, which are built in the MoonPhone; • Access to connectivity: the MoonPhone offers the benefits of mobile broadband in 2G areas with intermittent network access, thanks to proprietary development. Affordability issues are overcome thanks to PAYG financing of the phone and a highly affordable data plan. Content, phone interface and applications are tailored to local needs. • Last mile distribution: Sunna has designed attractive solar-powered “container-shops”: these smart, low-cost and mobile stores are easily deployed from within the container carrying 800 products. Three local jobs are created per shop, in addition to multiple commission-based resellers in surrounding villages. Show less
