Section Leader, Tenor Saxophone, University of Oregon Marching Band
-
Sep 2013 - Jun 2017
In 2015 I was named Section Leader (as a Sophomore) of the Saxophone section. Each season, I lead a top-tier 20 person saxophone section of the athletic band for functions and events relating to the athletic program and university as a whole. The Oregon Marching Band (OMB) brings energy to the stands and presents outstanding field shows at home and selected away football games. The OMB is one of the University of Oregon’s largest student-led organizations with more than 250 members from nearly every department on campus. With a tradition of exceptional musicianship, it’s no surprise that the OMB is known as the “Wall of Sound.” The Oregon Marching Band is a recognized university course that requires registration and awards credit. The OMB has a professional staff that has worked with a wide variety of both collegiate and drum corps programs. Woodwind and brass players provide the melody while the drumline maintains the heartbeat of the ensemble. The Oregon Color Guard brings the music to life with colorful flag and rifle routines and dance. Placement in the OMB is secured by willingness to work hard, have fun and attend rehearsals. Through the generosity of donors, the OMB travels to selected away games and Bowl games. Recent bowl trips include the BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, and the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. Although traveling can be exciting, nothing beats performing in the sold-out 54,000-seat Autzen Stadium. The Oregon Marching Band is an organization in which students can strive for excellence and achieve high levels of performance on and off the field. Show less

Jun 2012 - Sep 2015
Part-time/season position while studying at the University of Oregon. My responsibilities included engaging with customers in a professional yet enthusiastic manner. While assisting customers I would build outfits or help them with suggestions to achieve the “look” they desired. Additionally, I worked as a cashier, stock room attendant, and back room team lead. While leading the back room team, we would process daily shipments of stock and product, inventory back stock and floor stock, and communicate with store management about stocking or supply related issues. Aéropostale, Inc. (occasionally known as Aéro) is an American shopping mall-based specialty retailer of casual apparel and accessories, principally targeting ages 14-to-17-year-old men and women through its Aéropostale stores and 4-to-12-year-old children through its P.S. from Aéropostale stores. Aéropostale maintains control over its proprietary brands by designing, sourcing, marketing and selling all of its own merchandise. The company operates 773 Aéropostale stores in the U.S. (spanning all 50 states and Puerto Rico) and about 61 stores in Canada. P.S. from Aéropostale operates 26 stores in 12 U.S. states. Aéropostale's licensees operate 239 Aéropostale and P.S. from Aéropostale locations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. The first Aéropostale store was opened in 1987 by Macy's in the Westside Pavilion Mall in Los Angeles, CA. The company has grown from 119 stores in 1999 to the current 860. Show less
