The Key Worker Memorial TrustDuring this on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Key Workers have heroically put aside their own physical and mental wellbeing to care for others. Tragically more than 7,900 have died. This total is equivalent to one Falkirk football stadium, or five United Kingdom Parliaments.Key Workers have been honoured with memorials in the past.1348: Twenty-six monks are dignified in Westminster Abbey, London. Monks acted as doctors, pharmacists, teachers and undertakers during the Black Death.1920: Her Majesty’s armed forces are revered in Whitehall, London.148,125 civilians have also tragically died. This total is greater than the cumulative population of the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey and the British Virgin Islands. The Key Worker Memorial Trust was formed in April 2020 to continue this precedent and deliver a representative and inclusive memorial, sited in Green Park, London. In 2021, the Trust became a registered charity in England. The Key Worker Memorial Trust has been created with the assistance of five committed and compassionate members of the public.
