I am currently working with the Lower School, grade 4, as a Teacher Scholar in a rigorous graduate school internship for special education as part of Saint Joseph's University at AIM Academy. I am Level 1 Certified in the Wilson Reading System and am also teaching math, writing and science. AIM Academy is known for its Access to the Expert Series where the top researchers and practitioners conduct teacher training sessions as part of the AIM Institute for Learning and Research. I have attended sessions on writing and executive functioning this year presented by Dr. Steve Graham and Peg Dawson respectively. I have completed many of the LETRS modules as well as training in Fundations. I am fortunate to be mentored by a team of talented educators including Nancy Hennessy, past President of the International Dyslexia Association, and the lead teachers and instructional teacher leaders at AIM.I am working with two mentor teachers, who guide and support me throughout the school year and I am also working with the rest of the 4th grade team during meetings, conferences, daily observations and discussions. I have experience with Pearson's AIMSweb benchmarking and progress monitoring as well as writing narratives for IEP's. Show less

I presented artifacts to zoo guests at the end of shows and answered questions on site. I was trained to hold animals, such as lizards, turtles, and nonpoisonous snakes. I had the privilege to show and talk about these animals to zoo guests. Also, I had the opportunity to go on a Zoo On Wheel school tour. I was able to show one animal and then presented artifacts and answered questions. I presented artifacts to zoo guests at the end of shows and answered questions on site.
