I was located in the Animal Metabolism Unit in Fargo, North Dakota with the USDA ARS. My main focus was conducting assays to further discover detection methods of meloxicam in livestock. Meloxicam is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat animals. Meloxicam is prohibited in animals used for consumption. The objective of this experiment is to create a safe, portable, user friendly method of detecting Meloxicam in livestock.
