English as a Foreign Language Teacher (TEFL)
-
2016 - 2018
I spent two years living in Spain and teaching English as a foreign language. I planned and taught English lessons focused on building fluency, with a particular emphasis on conversational English for adults and children of varying proficiency levels. My time in Spain provided valuable experience working with diverse groups of people. Strong communication, time management and organisation skills were particularly useful whilst teaching. Events Intern

2017 - 2017
TWIF is a non-profit working in partnership with local businesses and non-profits to connect members of the Seattle community with unique volunteer opportunities and events to engage with and support the community. I completed a summer internship facilitating small- to large-scale events in partnership with the Executive Director and events team. I supported recruitment, training and management of event volunteers and the organisation and management of vendors. I produced copy for email and social media posts, newsletters and outreach campaigns and I maintained clear communication with our team of employees, volunteers, vendors and sponsors, demonstrating my strong written and verbal communication skills. I also identified and recruited corporate sponsors, seeking in-kind donations and auction items. Following a successful internship, I was invited by the Executive Director to continue working remotely with TWIF in 2018 as Sponsorship Coordinator, liaising with possible sponsors and arranging sponsorship deals. Special Events Intern
-
2016 - 2016
The Pike Place Market Foundation supports the diverse community living and working in Pike Place Market through community-building, fundraising and advocacy. The Market is the heart of Seattle and one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the U.S. I completed a summer internship primarily contributing to the planning and production of the largest annual fundraiser, which attracted 1,400 guests and raised over $312,000, in addition to smaller events. I supported the recruitment, training and supervision of 200 event volunteers and managed the raffle procurement team, securing 300 raffle items worth $20,000. I was responsible for creating and executing event marketing campaigns on social media (and third-party websites). I demonstrated accuracy by performing data entry on ticket sales, donations, guests, vendors and volunteers on Excel and Raiser's Edge. Planning and producing special events requires excellent communication and computer processing skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure.
