  As a Mitigation Case Manager, I worked directly with Salt Lake City to alleviate issues surrounding neighborhoods and businesses around the homeless community. My specific role was assisting individuals experiencing homelessness by connecting them to community resources, providing basic necessities and offering support and encouragement to make changes in their lives. I also attended community council meetings, neighborhood advisory councils, and weekly city meetings to discuss what our best options were to create a thriving environment for both sheltered and unsheltered populations within our community.

  During my time as a Hospital Response Team Advocate, I would be called out at all hours of the day and night to provide crisis intervention and support to sexual violence survivors. This included providing emotional support during forensic testing, communicating with hospital staff and law enforcement, as well as being an empathetic and safe person to rely on. This sometimes included providing future community resources, safety planning, calling to shelters as well as providing new clothing and blankets when needed.
