We hired Allie as an Americorps Vista at Second Harvest Inland Northwest to help develop our emerging volunteer powered nutrition and food literacy work. She immediately got to work developing training and management systems from scratch that would enable us to meet and exceed our volunteer recruitment and retention goals for the year. In addition Allie dove headfirst into the research and evaluation side of nutrition education, developing high-quality materials that demonstrated changes in knowledge, behaviors and attitudes over time.
