Provide ongoing training and development to improve customer services and quality of performance. • Incorporate verbally and non-verbally communication methods when discussing staff problem-solving and/or discussing solutions concerning performance and/or attendance problems. • Ensure that faculty, staff and students follow all applicable health and safety rules and regulations. • Provide instructional support for science faculty and oversee the preparation of laboratory experiments for various science curricula on a systematic basis. • Schedule routine inspections concerning the service/repair of specific laboratory equipment and for the removal of specific hazardous chemical waste. • Coordinate with laboratory staff and faculty to implement appropriate chemical hygiene polices to ensure that the laboratory and preparation areas are ANSI, NFPA and OSHA compliant. • Execute regular inspections of the laboratories, preparations rooms, and chemical storage rooms, and generate detailed laboratory inspection reports for administration. • Prepare sterile solutions, acidic and basic solutions, biological cultures, and agar plates utilizing chemistry knowledge, aseptic and sterilizing techniques. • Implement procedures to ensure that all chemicals are properly labeled, utilized, stored and/or disposed of in accordance with OSHA mandated regulations. • Manage allocated funds, utilization of supplies/equipment and disposal of hazardous chemicals used in the lab. • Analyze and develop a calculated budget for ordering lab equipment, materials, and chemicals; meet with sales representatives in regards to laboratory purchasing functions.
