Monique and I worked together at Nordstrom while I was a Sales Manager over two departments and she was our store’s HR Assistant. Monique partnered with our HRM and Store Manager, along with roughly 20-25 Department Managers, to manage roughly 150-200 FT/PT hourly employees (annual rev for the store was ~$25mil). She handled semi-monthly payroll (and all payroll and timesheet issues/corrections), open enrollment, monthly new hire orientations, on-boarding (I-9s, offers, etc.), internal transfer requests, employee relations, assisted with coaching conversations, ensured APRs were delivered on time, handled WC/UECs/FMLA/LOA, worked with Apple One to get temps in for inventory (if needed), assisted with exit interviews if needed ... You name it, she handled it (even if it meant jumping in and selling if someone called out)! Monique’s door was ALWAYS open and we never, ever heard her say the phrases
