Bio
Laszlo B. Tamas
I have been very fortune to know the internationally renowned Dr. Giroux in various ways for many years now. She is clearly on any "short list" of the best contemporary movement disorders Neurologists, and has earned this reputation through many years of dedication to the treatment and understanding of Parkinson's and related diseases. In particular, Dr. Giroux may know more about, have more experience with and have more of a "feel" for deep brain stimulation than any clinician I have ever met. Heck, she and her colleagues invented the concept of a DBS "tune up clinic," a concept that is both practical and visionary. Having seen her energy and brilliance up close in projects she has undertaken, I can attest to her incredible focus and intellect; her ability to inspire the team she is working with; and the amazing creativity she brings to any challenge. She turns problems of many years into teaching lessons in how to think "out of the box." She is simply an amazing problem-solver! And with all this, she brings a grace and compassion to the patients under her care that most of us can only strive to emulate. Her humanitarianism is deeply ingrained, something sensed by all the patients and staff who surround her. I can think of no one I would recommend more highly in the field of movement disorders Neurology than Dr. Giroux.
