Monique is a thoughtful and thorough editor. She quickly grasped the nuances of our complex content and refined it to be more concise and compelling. As a seasoned communications pro, she understands how the creative process works and helped our large editorial project, with multiple stakeholders, move along as efficiently as possible. She was always on top of our deadlines, worked well with our content experts and designer, and is truly a pleasure to work with.

As director of communications with the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment, I had the pleasure of working with Monique for three-plus years. During that time she was one of the superstars of the communications team. She helped us significantly raise the profile of the Institute both internally at the University and nationally through marketing, social media, media relations and more. Monique was also skilled at working with scientists, researchers and other professionals and helping them translate their work for broad audiences. In fact, one of her strengths was creating engaging and accessible content describing the vast array of research, education and engagement efforts happening across our unit. She also helped track important communications metrics and increased web traffic via the Institute's e-news, social media and more. Monique always showed up to work with a can-do attitude, was eager to take on and lead new communications initiatives and overall was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Monique to someone seeking a professional with marketing and communications skills.

      • May 2020 - Aug 2020

In my role as social media manager for Bardo, a fine-ding restaurant on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, I photographed or video recorded dishes, drinks, staff, customers, and other things that were visually interesting (e.g. a glamour shot of a glass holding Bardo business cards, with wine bottles and an orchid an out-of-focus background) and created beautiful and compelling Instagram and Facebook posts and stories daily. I also created graphics to promote the restaurant's many music events throughout the summer. Visit Bardo's Instagram page and look at posts from May 21–August 8 for examples of my work.
