The Academic Accommodations Service (SASS) works with the University of Ottawa community to support students with temporary or permanent disabilities. As an Exam Proctor, I am responsible for setting up students’ exams with the appropriate accommodations. This includes any technologies required by students, secluded spaces, any mobility needs, and any other accommodations that students need.

Worked on contract from August 2022 until May 2023 for the faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa. I was responsible for creating a workshop on a social science topic that I presented to high school students. The workshop that I created for the 2022-2023 school year dealt with how gender is represented in social media. This workshop aims to get students to reflect on their everyday interactions with social media. On average, the workshop was given once every two weeks.

Administrative Office Assistant

Worked on contract as a summer student for Employment and Social Services at the city of Ottawa as an administrative office assistant. In this role, I helped clients that come into the center and guide them to the proper tools for their requests. I also reported to my manager how many clients have come to the center and the reason for their visit. Answered phone calls and questions relating to Employment Ontario for French clients and was available on-site to answer questions clients may have. Used various computer applications that included City and Government owned programs in which I entered data and helped clients within confidentiality guidelines. As a supervisor, I oversaw the front end of the store and was responsible for cash balancing during my shifts. Employed with Statistics Canada as a Census Operator for the 2021 census. Worked on contract from May 2022 to August 2022 at the Data Operation Center. In this role, I was tasked with making sure questionnaires were properly shipped and logged into the computer system and ensured quality control of the questionnaires, as well as creating shipments when necessary. In an environment requiring a lot of change, I adapted easily to new rules and instructions. The job also required teamwork with attention to detail. Show less
