Bio
Taylor Lemker, M.A.
Monica has been an invaluable resource to Cuyamaca College, and an excellent teammate to our Career Services team. She has a natural talent for networking and has connected many high-quality industry partners to our campus. Her breadth and depth of industry relationships is extremely impressive. Specifically, I've had the pleasure of partnering with her to coach faculty, set up, and execute our CE Programs' Employer Advisory Boards (EABs.) These meetings serve to keep our program coordinators abreast of industry best practices, technology, and skills needed for our students to excel upon graduation. Her professionalism, communication, and ability to project manage have kept us on track for our annual goal of ensuring every Cuyamaca CE Program has a functioning EAB, which is crucial for Perkins Funding and increasing program enrollment. Monica is extremely flexible and willing to help in any way she can. She has supported various on-campus events, represented the college at the regional level, and continues to help us develop closer working relationships to our CE faculty. I'm grateful to be able to learn from her and truly enjoy working alongside her on any project!

Relationships come first in the work Monica conducts and it shines through in everything she does for our team. From kind notes to taking time to listen and understand multiple perspectives, Monica ensures individuals are respected and humanized in the midst of fast paced environment. I've worked most closely with Monica at Cuyamaca College in her role as Employer Relations Liaison. She stays organized and has close attention to detail. The employers she works with are well cared for (and fed) at any event she hosts. Any employer would be thrilled to have her on their team, we're just lucky she chose Cuyamaca!

Apr 2005 - Dec 2011
Was the interim office director for periods of time in the years that I worked at the U.S. Commercial Service. Here I oversaw daily operations and supervising a commercial assistant and two trade aides. Other job duties were organizing border trade events and exhibition commercial delegations where I had to see the logistics, marketing, presenters presentations and one on one meeting coordination for invitees. I also gave crossborder business counseling to U.S. based companies interested in trade and operations in Mexico. Wrote several Market research reports. I helped maintain relationships with Mexican State and local Government entities and their presidents and directors. I also kept a good relation with State Department within the U.S. Consulate General and collaborated with them on several Consulate events (i.e. roundtables on special topics). Show less
