Data Entry Clerk/Merchandise Controller – Stretch Assignment
-
Feb 2016 - Jan 2018
Position was located inside the TJ Maxx distribution center. My primary role consisted of processing the warehouse associate's logs which tracked their time per assigment as well as effiencey. Since the warehouse associate's pay was directly affected by our entries, ensuring consistent accuracy of entry and identifying errors for necessary corrections was essential. I had the opportunity to strengthen my internal customer service skills by maintaining great relationships and professional communications with the district center supervisors, union analysts, and executives. This made me a trusted source for answering any questions regarding logs and information whenever needed. As such, I was asked to assist with training and mentoring of any new data entry employees.Due to immediate need for assistance and my desire to look for growth within the company, I was assigned a stretch position, I gained knowledge of receiving and lay-up as pertains to merchandise control including flow of the dock, verifying purchase orders, solving common problems, obtaining samples, and using the warehouse database.

I worked in several different departments within the State of Nevada in an administrative assistant capacity. I started with Disability Adjudication which is the state extension of the Social Security office responsible for the processing of disability claims within the state. I developed new disability claims for adjudicators which included: identifying the type of claim, reading through claim and medical records to identify a need for additional information, running an Administrative Law Judge query, sending requests to medical sources, and sending forms to claimant as appropriate. Our office was a small remote location of the primary office located in Carson City. Since we were a small staff, I assisted the IT team by providing IT troubleshooting help for coworkers and new employee computer stations set-up.From there, I moved to Employment, Training & Rehabilitation’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. The office worked with individuals with disabilities to assist with obtaining employment and assisting those currently employed with training, counseling, and other support methods.
